A Silent Wood - Text RPG Adventure App Reviews

Very new to me

Ive never played a game similar to this, so I thought Id give it a dollar since I was intrigued and no doubt it is intriguing! Its always a perk to have to run off only your imagination and makes for very interesting gameplay. Also, the game is actually kind of difficult. You will definitely die a good amount of times.

Entertaining game.

Ive had a lot of fun with this so far, its obviously heavily influenced by "A Dark Room", so if you enjoyed that game, I would recommend getting this one. Only thing I would suggest is autosaving, its pretty tedious having to save every time you close the app, not to mention losing progress if the app crashes. Overall 3.5/5 stars.

Not bad

The description might say something like "inspired" by A Dark Room, but it almost exactly the same game. There are a few new elements such as farming and plague, but they seem meaningless and dont really bring anything more to the gameplay. I do like the story in this game better. Other than that, it is almost an exact clone of A Dark Room.

Get it

This game is really fun, its just like A DARK ROOM exept with a few changes (witch makes it fun if you have already played A DARK ROOM).the farm keeps me entertained in the slow parts. I recomend this game Some ideas: when exploring, make it less likely to be attacked my monsters, I have explored and gotten hit by like 6 monsters and Im only on my first level stuff Also, I like how this version has background music, overall this is a great game

Misspellings and bad grammar

Ruined it for me. Text-based games need to be perfectly written. This doesnt even compare to A Dark Room.

Dark room clone

This is nothing more than a spruced up dark room, dont waste your time with the download.

Nice Rendition

This game is a rendition of ADR. 4 out of 5 stars for unoriginality. I liked the battle at W better than ADR. More exciting and challenging.

A really unpolished hack of "A Dark Room"

Dev couldnt even bother to spell-check before publishing. "A Dark Room" is a wonderful game and Superior BY FAR. Pass on this one.

This is a fantastic game

I had never played A Dark Room previously. I found this one first. Played it, finished it. Loved it. I don’t know why ppl give this dude a hard time for taking an open source project and making it his own. That is what every Linux distribution is. It has a pleasing graphical presentation. I prefer this presentation over A Dark Room and I recommend this version. I will continue to.

Poor "A Dark Room" Knockoff

They added a lot of bells and whistles like melodramatic music (cant shut off), animation effects (adds time), and changed the narrative. I think it cheapens the original "A Dark Room" experience. Without spoiling the story, the game was designed with a very deep psychological twist for the player built on the minimal play. The more you add to it, the more obvious it is so the twist has less impact. The absolute worst part is that this version doesnt work with VoiceOver. Why even have a text based game if the accessibility function cant read the text? Download A Dark Room. Same price, better experience, and blind friendly.

Pathetic "A Silent Wood" more like "A Dark Room

This game is a ripoff of the game "A Dark Room" only under a different name besides this game isnt ever blind friendly dont buy this knock off

Seriously!!!

All this game did, was make me want to create a blank page app and sell it. My bad though didnt read the reviews first. So good job for that. There is ABSOLUTELY no more intellect then remedial reading and finger pointing abilities needed. Trust me save a buck.( These are not the droids your looking for!)

Awesome

The earlier reviews are hardly fair and hardly do this game justice. It took me a while to finish the game but the plot twist in the end was amazing!! Truly a wonderful game and worth the price.

"A Dark Room" Knockoff

The first few minutes of the game is almost exactly the same as in "A Dark Room". I get making a similar yet completely different game to a popular game, but at least you could come up with your own text instead of stealing it from another game! Theres such things as copyright that make it illegal!

"A Dark Room" classic

Now, before all of you haters start rating this with a 1-star, I wish to remind you that this game is the same UNCOPYLOCKED SCRIPT as A Dark Room. Both game plays have their own story, with A Silent Wood having a little more gameplay and more story to it. Even though some scenes are "copied," its the only way to progress through those stories. Tbh, this game isnt that far off of ADR. However, I applaud the creator for modifying the game to create a totally new concept. 4-stars for the unoriginality of the game.
