They added a lot of bells and whistles like melodramatic music (cant shut off), animation effects (adds time), and changed the narrative. I think it cheapens the original "A Dark Room" experience.
Without spoiling the story, the game was designed with a very deep psychological twist for the player built on the minimal play. The more you add to it, the more obvious it is so the twist has less impact.
The absolute worst part is that this version doesnt work with VoiceOver. Why even have a text based game if the accessibility function cant read the text?
